Prison Teams

“I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
I tell you the truth whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” Matthew 25:36-40

Three years ago we launched our Prison Ministry and now have programmes operating in two local prisons. The majority of the inmates within the women’s prison have drug and alcohol issues, and many have suffered abuse at the hands of others. These women have extremely low self esteem and a large percentage of self harm is reported on a daily basis within prison. Our aim is to come alongside these women in a loving, non judgemental way and extend a hand of friendship which so many are in desperate need of.

When we look beyond the external into the heart of a person and see what God sees, we quickly come to learn that there is no one too far gone and no one too hard for Jesus to transform” (Prison Team Member)

What began with a small team once a month taking a bag of nail polishes onto a prison wing has led to us having regular on-going access and input throughout the week, including a Sunday morning service led by our team

Our belief is that if a person can come out of prison better than when he/she went in, then society will be a better place.
